How do their AI assistants differ?

Healthee says Zoe draws on the employee's plan documents, enrolled coverage, deductible and out-of-pocket status, provider network and real-time cost data1. Answers are personal because Zoe is connected to each employee's data.

HealthJoy says JoyAI is trained on the employer's benefits plan and handles plan comparisons, coverage questions, provider lookups and cost estimates2.

Who helps when the AI can't?

Healthee escalates complex appeals, plan change requests and coverage disputes to bilingual Benefits Specialists, reachable by chat, phone and email1. HealthJoy's licensed concierge team handles claims disputes, appointment scheduling and care coordination2; its program terms list chat hours of 7 a.m. to midnight Central on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends3.

What do they cost?

Both quote per employee per month and publish no list price4,5. One public HealthJoy contract exists: LaSalle County, Illinois approved $8.70 per employee per month in September 20266. We found no public Healthee contract.

How long does setup take?

Healthee says about 6 to 8 weeks from contract to launch, including connections to your HRIS, benefits administration platform and carrier data1. HealthJoy doesn't publish a standard timeline; its contracts set a target start date5, and in September 2026 it introduced a guided setup with automated document parsing7.

Which fits a 200-person company?

Healthee says it typically works with employers from a few hundred to tens of thousands of employees1. HealthJoy's CEO wrote in April 2026 that its model is now within reach of a 100-person company with one HR generalist8. At 200 employees, both are worth a call; ask each for references at your size.

Who should pick which?

  • Healthee if personalized answers matter most and you can connect HR, benefits administration and carrier data.
  • HealthJoy if employees need help finding providers, pricing prescriptions and working through claims, with a concierge team behind the app.
  • Neither if employees mainly need to find their plan details, documents and the right phone number. That is a smaller job, and the box below covers it.

Not sure you need concierge navigation?

Healthee and HealthJoy both sell help from people, priced per employee. If your employees mostly need to find their plan details, documents and the right phone number, that is a smaller job. Benefits Studio turns your plan documents into a benefits site, with an AI assistant that answers from those documents and shows the page it used, at a flat price per portal from $49 a month billed yearly.

Questions buyers ask

Are Healthee and HealthJoy the same kind of product?

Mostly. Both pair an AI assistant with a human support team and price per employee. They differ in what the AI reads and what the human team does.

Which is cheaper?

Neither publishes prices. One public HealthJoy contract, in LaSalle County, Illinois, is $8.70 per employee per month; we found no public Healthee contract.

Do employees need an account?

Yes, for both. Each runs in its own app or website. Healthee supports single sign-on; HealthJoy members sign in with a HealthJoy account.
