What does a year cost?

HealthJoy doesn't publish prices. Its client terms bill a per-employee monthly rate set in each contract1. LaSalle County, Illinois approved $8.70 per employee per month in September 20262. At that rate, an employer with 200 employees would pay about $20,880 a year. That is our arithmetic: HealthJoy prices each contract on its own.

HealthJoy at LaSalle County's rate, 200 employees (our arithmetic)2
$20,880
Benefits Studio Professional, billed yearly (employers up to 500)
$1,188
Different products, different jobs: HealthJoy's fee includes a concierge team, and Benefits Studio doesn't provide one.

Prices come from public online sources as of October 15, 2026. Negotiated contract pricing often differs.

What does each assistant answer from?

HealthJoy says JoyAI is trained on your benefits plan and handles plan comparisons, coverage questions, provider lookups and cost estimates, with a licensed concierge team for complex cases3.

Benny answers only from the plan documents you upload and confirm, and every answer shows the page it came from. Benny doesn't search for providers or book appointments; it points employees to the carrier or your team.

How are they different?

HealthJoy is an app with a concierge team

HealthJoy calls itself a benefits operating system4. Employees use its app or website5 to chat with JoyAI, search for providers, find lower prescription prices and reach the concierge team3,6. Its program terms list concierge chat hours of 7 a.m. to midnight Central on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends, and sell telemedicine and bill review as add-on modules7.

Benefits Studio is a benefits website

It turns your plan documents into a site employees open on their phone, with no login: plan details, carrier links, contacts, enrollment dates and the documents themselves. Benny answers from those documents. Nothing publishes until someone on your team confirms it.

Who is each one built for?

HealthJoy sells to employers and through benefit consultants6. Its CEO wrote in April 2026 that its model is now within reach of a 100-person company with one HR generalist8. Benefits Studio is built for employers up to 2,500 employees and the brokers who serve them, who buy one portal per client.

Thinking of switching from HealthJoy?

What you give up

The concierge team, provider search and the prescription savings tool3,6. If employees lean on those, keep a navigation app.

What carries over

The information. Upload your plan documents, add carrier and HR contacts, and switch at renewal so employees hear one clear message at open enrollment.

Can you use both?

Yes. Benefits Studio can be the place employees start: plan details, documents, contacts and enrollment dates, with no login. Add HealthJoy as its own benefit on your site, with its app link, so employees know where to go for a provider search, a prescription price or help with a claim.

Is Benefits Studio a replacement for HealthJoy?

No. Benefits Studio has no concierge team and doesn't search for providers or work on claims. It replaces the PDF benefits guide and the questions HR answers by email.

Do employees need to log in?

Not to Benefits Studio: a site is public, or protected by one shared password. HealthJoy members sign in to its app or website.
