How do their models differ?

Quantum Health gives employees one point of contact: a dedicated team of benefits experts, claims specialists and nurses1. Since March 2026 that includes physician chat through CirrusMD2, and Quantum also sells Embold Plus, a lighter, digital-first tier3.

Accolade's care team includes advocates, nurses, doctors and therapists. Care Advocates handle benefits navigation, claims support and referrals, and depending on the employer's plan, members also get expert medical opinions through 2nd.MD and virtual primary care4. Accolade has been part of Transcarent since April 20255, which pairs it with WayFinding, an AI and clinician experience6.

What do they cost?

Neither publishes prices, so public contracts are the best guide. In Savannah, Georgia's 2021 bid, Quantum's first-year price was $490,000 and Accolade's was $530,0007. Pinellas County, Florida agreed in October 2026 to pay Quantum $22.34 per employee per month8. Fort Worth, Texas authorized up to $1,550,000 a year for Accolade in 2020, a ceiling rather than a bill9.

What do public bids show?

Government employers publish their vendor choices, which makes them the clearest record of how these two compete:

  • Savannah, Georgia (2021): Quantum and Accolade were the two finalists, and the city kept Quantum, its existing vendor7.
  • CalPERS (2024): Accolade and a Quantum Health joint venture with Premise Health both bid, and Included Health was recommended for the contract10.
  • Fort Worth, Texas (2023): the city awarded its concierge contract to Alight. Accolade, which had held it since 2021, also bid9,11.
  • Pinellas County, Florida (2026): Quantum ranked first of six bidders and Transcarent third12.

How long does implementation take?

Quantum typically asks for at least 120 days8. Transcarent says timelines vary by scope, starting from the eligibility files you already have13.

Which fits a 200-person company?

Both sell mainly to self-insured employers. Quantum says its clients range from growing businesses to the Fortune 20, and its savings report breaks out results by size only for clients with 2,500 or more members1,14. Transcarent names self-insured employers and health plans as its customers5. At 200 employees, ask both for references at your size.

Who should pick which?

  • Quantum Health if you want a care coordination team as the first call for anything health related, and can plan for a four-month implementation.
  • Accolade if expert medical opinions and virtual primary care matter as much as advocacy, and Transcarent's AI tools appeal to you.
  • Neither if employees mainly need to find their plan details, documents and the right phone number. That is a smaller job, and the box below covers it.

Not sure you need concierge navigation?

Accolade and Quantum Health both sell help from people, priced per employee. If your employees mostly need to find their plan details, documents and the right phone number, that is a smaller job. Benefits Studio turns your plan documents into a benefits site, with an AI assistant that answers from those documents and shows the page it used, at a flat price per portal from $49 a month billed yearly.

Questions buyers ask

Is Accolade still a company?

Accolade is part of Transcarent, which completed its merger with Accolade on April 8, 2025. The Accolade name is still used for member services.

Which is cheaper, Accolade or Quantum Health?

Neither publishes prices. In Savannah's 2021 bid, Quantum's first-year price was $490,000 and Accolade's was $530,000. Prices depend on the employer, so ask both for a quote.

Do Accolade and Quantum Health include doctors?

Both do. Accolade offers virtual primary care and expert opinions through 2nd.MD, and Quantum added physician chat through CirrusMD in March 2026.

Is Benefits Studio a navigation vendor?

No. Benefits Studio is software: a benefits website with an AI assistant that answers from your plan documents. It's in the table for reference.
